In Australia, 1 in 3 women identify their birth as traumatic. This forum is to raise awareness of the impact of birth trauma – and the importance of detection, prevention, support and treatment.
This forum will provide participants with an update about the evidence concerning birth-related trauma, and an open forum for consumers and clinicians from a range of disciplines to discuss and identify issues that may prevent effective communication in clinical situations.
We will provide a constructive approach to considering the concerns of women and clinicians when providing such information, with the ultimate aim of demonstrating the work ABTA is doing in the field to better support impacted women and their families.
