Mothers who have a lived experience of birth trauma often have a unique set of needs that are often not met by traditional mothers/parenting groups. The purpose of this program is to provide education, understanding and a safe space for these mothers to explore their birth trauma in a supportive way and develop a plan forward for their trauma journey.
The group will facilitate time for discussion on the joys and challenges of motherhood as well as providing information and activities on the following topics:
- What is birth trauma?
- Exploring a Birth Debrief
- Friends, Family and Trauma
- Riding the Birth Trauma Rollercoaster
- Creating your collaborative care team
- Developing a plan forward
The program runs every Tuesday from 9:30am – 11:30am for six weeks commencing on 25 February 2020 and is suitable for mothers with bubs who are 12 months or younger. Future programs will be provided for mothers with older children.
Registration is free. Please email Christine at firstname.lastname@example.org to register. Please note that due to the small group nature of this program, numbers are limited.
