A fundraising Art Show – Brought together by Amy (Sodapop) Dominey.
Amy is a Brisbane-based artist that experienced postpartum-PTSD after the birth of her first child. She used her art as an outlet for expressing her traumatic experiences. Art therapy is something that can benefit many survivors of trauma.
“Art expression is a powerful way to safely contain and create separation from the terrifying experience of trauma” writes board-certified art therapist Gretchen Miller for the National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children. “Art safely gives voice to and makes a survivor’s experience of emotions, thoughts, and memories visible when words are insufficient.”
This event is giving women from the Australasian Birth Trauma Support a chance to bravely share their own strength after trauma.
Featured Artists include:
– Hayley Wills
– Moonshine Madness
