For: Mothers who are within 3 years postpartum that would like support for their birth trauma experience.
Event Description: This is a 6 week program. The purpose of this program is to provide education, understanding and a safe space for mothers to explore their birth trauma in a supportive way and develop a plan forward for their trauma journey. The group will facilitate time for discussion on the joys and challenges of motherhood as well as providing information and activities on the following topics: What is birth trauma? Exploring a Birth Debrief , Friends, Family and Trauma, Riding the Birth Trauma Rollercoaster, Creating your collaborative care team and Where to from here. It is our hope, that through this program, participants will achieve: Recognition that they are not alone, Understanding that their trauma is valid whatever that trauma looks like , Awareness that it’s OK not to be OK and there is hope , Create friendships for ongoing support in the future, Understand the healthcare system and where to get help, Develop a path forward for health and well-being.
