Kendall

I had a 17 hour labour. I spent  the first 12 hours at home. When I got to the hospital my contractions started to reduce. I was induced after another 4 hours with my baby in posterior position. I ended up with a 3b perineal tear. I had general anaesthesia for the repair. When I came out of surgery I couldn’t remember my birth.  I am fortunate that I don’t have any severe physical symptoms as a result. I did however struggle with significant detachment from my daughter for several months. I felt like I had failed her. I reached out for help and processed my birth. This was the best thing I did. I want to be able to help other people with their journey to enjoying their baby. To know that it really does get better.
